about

'...Bellydancer' was born out of change. The five of us were adapting to new homes and relationships; balancing work, illness and distance while writing sporadically in our Dunfermline studio. Songs shifted shape as we began to fill in a soundscape to accompany a new narrative, which became more and more ambitious over time, each lyric delving closer and closer to home whilst venturing further overseas. There is a real catharsis, holding this EP in our hands; the last few years of frustration and elation all distilled into the songs we have now let loose. We began with five wildly different ideas of what to achieve - and we are delighted to present you with a vision that none of us could have conjured up on our own. Democracy is a bitch, but in this case, we believe it has paid off. Out of all the records deserving of your ear, we appreciate you taking the time for ours.
