about

We at Scottish Fiction Records enjoyed working with Mt. Doubt so much last year that we are teaming up with the band again. And joining our roster are the wonderful Foreignfox. Together both bands' new singles form our AA split 7" vinyl coming out on 31st March 2017. The 7" vinyl will be accompanied by a download package of two B-sides (one per band) AND two EXCLUSIVE remixes (only available with the vinyl).

For those who are unfamiliar with either band, Foreignfox have the kind of raw, passionate energy you associate with a band possessing the kind of 'close to the bone' lyrics and huge chorus that they are capable of. There's equal parts dark-pop, post-rock, and alt-folk at play, with comparisons made to the likes of Fatherson and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

Mt. Doubt have risen through last year as one of Scotland's most promising talents, led by Leo Bargery's sullen and thoughtful lyrics, and musically capable of both 'quiet-loud-quiet' explosions and heartfelt harmonies. Comparisons have been made to The National, Joy Division, The Twilight Sad, and The War on Drugs. For Mt. Doubt, the real joy lies in getting between these influences and creating something personal and real.
